Buddy Holbert is pursuing his PhD in Systems Engineering, joining the Peccoud Lab in September 2018. His research interest is in cyberbiosecurity systems, including intellectual property protection and information security for synthetic DNA. He intends to develop solutions that will have practical applications to scientific experimentation, business, and national security.
Buddy has a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College, an MBA Degree from Oklahoma City University, and a BS Degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy. He has over 20 combined years of experience managing biological defense systems, technology support and development, and cybersecurity projects for the Federal Government, as well as some of the country’s most influential companies in the financial services and energy sectors. Buddy is a retired Army Colonel and combat veteran.
